This page explains how Stryde handles account, source, and learning data. It is written plainly so students can understand what the product is doing. Last updated May 10, 2026.

What Stryde Stores

Stryde stores the information needed to run your learning workspace: account details, study profile, saved workspace state, remembered source metadata, short snippets, feedback, flashcards, quiz state, and lesson history.

If you upload a syllabus or source file, the app may extract readable text so it can choose better sources and build lessons around your course. Keep private or sensitive documents out of the app unless you are comfortable using them in a study workspace.

Syllabus file previews during signup are used to extract text for the profile you are creating. Signed-in syllabus uploads require an account session and are attached only when you save the study profile.

How The Data Is Used

Your study profile helps route searches toward sources that fit your school, exam board, university course, subject, or personal interests.

Remembered source metadata helps the app reuse trusted sources instead of repeatedly searching the web for the same kind of question.

Workspace and lesson history help you continue studying without rebuilding the same materials from scratch.

Sources And Search

The app is designed to store source URLs, titles, quality signals, short snippets, and learning metadata rather than copying whole websites.

Lessons should link back to the original source when a web source is used. Source snippets are used to ground explanations, show evidence, and help you check whether the answer matches the source.

Search results can be imperfect. The app ranks sources toward textbooks, official pages, academic databases, and trusted learning resources, but you should still check important claims.

AI Providers

Stryde can use local AI through Ollama or hosted AI providers when configured by the app owner. The selected provider may receive your prompt and a compact source digest so it can generate a lesson.

The app should avoid sending unnecessary private workspace data to an AI provider. For hosted AI, prompts and compact source context may leave the Stryde server to generate a response. For local Ollama mode, generation can stay on the configured local machine.

Do not use the app as a secure vault for sensitive personal, medical, legal, financial, or safety-critical information.

Your Control

You can remove individual remembered sources, clear all source memory, change your study profile, export your account data, delete your account, and clear local workspace data from the workspace controls.

Account deletion removes the app account record plus saved sessions, workspace snapshots, password reset records, and remembered source memory attached to that account.

Exported account data is delivered as a JSON file so you can inspect what the app stores about your account and learning workspace.

Security And Retention

The app stores account data in the configured database and keeps authentication sessions in secure HTTP-only cookies where possible.

Some data may also exist in your browser storage so the workspace feels fast during local development. Clearing browser storage removes local copies but does not replace account deletion for server-side data.

Source memory and lesson cache are meant to improve speed and quality over time. Freshness-sensitive topics should be rechecked more often than stable topics like basic math or classical science.

Younger Students

If you are below the age required to use online services in your location, use Stryde only with permission from a parent, guardian, teacher, or school.

Do not enter personal information about yourself or others that is not needed for studying.
